OJK Virtual Innovation Day

Toward the end of 2021, the Indonesian Financial Services Authority (commonly abbreviated as “OJK”) held an OJK Virtual Innovation Day with as topic: “Building Robust and Sustainable Digital Finance Ecosystem Amid Covid 10 Pandemic” which is intended to promote and accommodate the acceleration of digital transformation in the financial services sector. OJK focused on 2 strategic matters namely:

(1) providing services and products that are fast, cheap and competitive to the public; and

(2) providing easiness and access to the public who are considered unbankable, as well as, to medium to small size enterprises, to use products and financial digital services.

The keynote speech was delivered by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, and the opening speech was delivered by the incumbent chairman of the Board of Commissioners of OJK, Prof. Wimboh Santoso. The event was also attended by the Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, president directors of HIMBARA (association of Indonesian state-owned banks), representatives of the World Bank and the Asia Development Bank.
